- Irish foods company, Erin, has been forced to pull a suggestive advertising campaign for its Sauce in Seconds range.

The $1 million campaign, which is running on RTE1 and Network 2 in Ireland, received a stream of complaints for its ad, which shows a woman wondering aloud about a man called Brian, for whom she is cooking dinner.

While holding a large cucumber, she asks the question: "Is it true what they say about Brian?"

The ad was created by Dublin-based Young's, which has since re-edited the commercial and dropped the lingering hand on cucumber shot.

According to a spokesman for Erin: "We had no plans to shock anyone, just to produce an ad which is a little different."
