Euronews gets Irish distribution
The EuroNews news channel will now be available 24 hours a day to digital subscribers in Ireland via the Go Digital subscription package following a deal signed with NTL Ireland.
Previously the pan-European channel aired for only a few hours a day on national terrestrial channels RTE1, Network 2 and TG4.
Hollinger issues shares to take pressure off
Hollinger Inc, the company which is 80% owned by Ravelston Management, a private company controlled by Lord Conrad Black, is to seek to issue shares to a single institutional investor said Dan Coulson, Hollinger vice-president.
The move is being seen as an attempt to ease debt and shareholder pressure on the group.
Hollinger was keen to point out that there would be no significant dilution of Ravelston's interest.
The new issue is expected to help ease some of Hollinger's £75m bond debt.
