Iris Sex Lottery work lands ISP Grand Prix

Agency Iris Promotional Marketing has topped a winning year by picking up the main prize at the 2004 ISP Awards for its Department of Health Sex Lottery campaign.

As well as landing the Grand Prix, Iris won a Platinum and two Golds (Fundraising and Cause-Related Marketing, and Public Services, Utilities, Environment and Agriculture) with the youth sex education campaign. The five-year-old agency was also voted MCCA agency of the year (see In the Hot Seat, p9) in March.

In a year that saw a more even distribution of prizes than previous years, SMP pipped Iris for the top agency slot with the most individual awards.

It collected a Platinum and four Golds for Nikon, Andrex and Pampers work.

Claydon Heeley Jones Mason went home with three Golds for Calloway Golf Europe and Guardian Newspapers, a number equalled by Hicklin Slade & Partners, which picked up another three awards for its new business drive, If Dance Music is Dead, What's Next?

Blue Chip Marketing, Triangle, Fresh and 23red picked up two Golds apiece, while Billington Cartmell won a Platinum and a Gold for work on Nestle Gold Blend.

Other Gold winners were Arc, BD-Ntwk, Tequila Manchester, Gloria Mundi Productions, Dialogue Marketing and KLP Euro RSCG.

"The awards demonstrate the strength of the UK promotional marketing industry," said ISP chairman Randle Stonier. "Over the past 12 months, UK promotional creativity has achieved a great deal. We were second to the US at the GLOBES Awards at our first time of entry, entry, and picked up 25 per cent of the Golds in the European awards."
