IPC's Hi-Fi to carry music reviews

IPC magazine Hi-Fi News is to add a music review section as part of an overhaul of its contents.

The section will cover releases in classical, jazz and rock and high-quality ‘audiophile' recordings.
Hi-Fi News is also introducing a ratings and awards system that scores each piece of equipment for features, sound quality, build quality and value for money, and will single out the month's best buy.
Other new features include Hi-Fi Doctor, in which the team goes to readers' homes to solve problems with their hi-fis, a how to guide, a jargon buster and buying tips.
The magazine will also adopt a new masthead as part of a redesign that also includes a new colour palette and improved photography.
Now in its 50th year, Hi-Fi News has an ABC of 13,710.
The new-look issue goes on sale on 28 July, ahead of the annual Hi-Fi News Show on 22-24 September.
