IPC shakes up senior ad roles

The men's lifestyle and music portfolio, Ignite, has created the role of new media sales director role, which will be occupied by Andrew Sanders, currently solutions director for Ignite.

The move comes at the end of a successful year for Ignite's digital presence, with websites for Nuts, Loaded and NME bringing in increased revenue for the company.

IPC Ignite's group commercial director, Karl Marsden, said: "We needed a senior operator to lead our sales effort in this critical arena and in Andrew we have the perfect man for the job."

The team's commercial manager, David Fisher, has been promoted to business development director for the group.

Meanwhile, IPC's glossy magazines arm, SouthBank, has hired Lynne Springett, former Radio Advertising Bureau marketplace and PR manager, to oversee ad marketing.

Springett will work for IPC's SouthBank portfolio of titles, which includes Marie Claire, Family Circle and In Style, which scooped the Periodical Publishers' Association Consumer Magazine of the Year award in 2004.

The appointment follows IPC's decision in October to restructure its advertising operation at SouthBank, with the creation of specialist brand-specific teams, covering luxury products and women's glossies.

As part of this new approach to advertising at IPC, one of Springett's first jobs will be to conduct extensive research on the beauty industry.

IPC Media's group ad marketing director, Christina Hartley, said: "Lynne's arrival is perfectly timed. Her experience will be of huge value in developing market-leading research."

Elsewhere in the company, Paul Moynihan has been promoted to the new role of head of ad marketing for IPC's central trading division.

Moynihan was previously senior ad marketing executive for corporate business development at the company.
