IPC Media veteran Stam to retire after 16 years

LONDON - IPC Media veteran David Stam is to retire after 16 years with the company, including 10 years as the managing director of Marketforce, the magazine sales and distribution company.

After his retirement at the end of 2005, Stam will continue as a consultant to IPC, representing it on industry committees including the Periodical Publishers Association and the Audit Bureau of Circulations. He is currently a member of the ABC Council and a director of ABC.

Sylvia Auton, chief executive of IPC Media, said: "After a decade as managing director of Marketforce, David has decided to seek pastures new, but he leaves us knowing that the business is in much better shape than he found it."

Stam joined IPC in 1989 and was made managing director of Marketforce and an IPC main board member in 1995.

"It is now time to move on and I am very pleased that Sylvia has asked me to act as a consultant for IPC and Marketforce," Stam said.
