NME Russia: focus on Russian music

A Russian version of rock weekly NME is to be launched following a co-production deal between IPC Ignite! and Russian publisher Veneto.

NME Russia becomes the 25th international edition for IPC and the first international launch for IPC Ignite! Publishing manager Richard Coles said: "We have shown with NME.com that NME can be a highly successful global brand and NME Russia will build on that success."

Veneto general director Oleg Ivanov said: "NME Russia will combine the best of the NME with additional information about Russian music - on the cover of the first issue there will be a picture of Slava Vakarchuk, leader of popular Ukrainian group Elza."

The A4 format magazine will launch on September 18.
