IPC and Future add digital mags

IPC Media's Woman and Home magazine and Future's Online Gambler are set to launch digital versions that can be delivered direct to subscribers' desktops.

NME, another IPC title, is also testing the system and could follow suit.

The magazines are the latest to sign up for the digital delivery system with US company Zinio, which has just set up a UK office to further establish digital publishing in this country.

Zinio has existing contracts with IPC, Future and B2B publisher VNU and is looking to get more UK publishers on board.

The company hopes to establish digital publishing, which is popular in the US, as a more common delivery method here.

Sarah Clegg, UK commercial director for Zinio and a former executive of Emap and Clear Channel, believes UK magazine publishing is in danger of falling behind other countries.

"The challenge we have in the UK is that digital is not high on the publishing agenda yet," she said.
