- IPC Magazines has announced it is to close the weekly women's magazine Eva following an unsuccessful relaunch in March.

The four-year-old title was redeveloped in the Spring in an attempt to position it as a bridge from the young women's market, more familiar with monthly magazines, into the more traditional women's weeklies sector.

Linda Lancaster-Gaye, managing director of IPC Magazines, said: "When we undertook the Eva relaunch it was a radical repositioning in a bid to test out a new style of weekly aimed at the young end of this market. We knew that it carried a high risk."
