Cummings will oversee the publishing of weeklies Woman's Own, Woman and online property goodtoknow. He will report to Fiona Dent, managing director of IPC Connect.

Cummings joined IPC in 2004 as a business analyst for the Southbank division, rising to become Marie Claire's managing editor and finally associate publisher in 2008.

Prior to joining IPC, Cummings had worked as a business analyst at Coca-Cola, Condé Nast and British Airways.

He takes up the role next month, replacing Oswin Grady, who will become publishing director for IPC Inspire’s equestrian titles Horse & Hound, Horse and Eventing.

An IPC spokeswoman said no replacement as associate publisher at Marie Claire had yet been appointed, and that no restructure is planned for the title. Justine Southall will remain as publishing director for Marie Claire.

Woman, Woman's Own and Marie Claire all reported year-on-year circulation drops of between 9.7% and 10.4% in the latest ABCs, whilst IPC's Essentials was the biggest grower in the sector, rising by 9.9% year-on-year.

Last month, IPC Media announced Niall Clarkson, publishing director for TV brands, would be replaced by Drew Kirkland, formerly group publishing director for weekly women's and TV titles at Hearst Magazines UK.
