IPA membership nears 300 as five new member agencies sign up

LONDON - Wunderman, Syzygy, Addiction, Grey Healthcare and Sense Worldwide have joined the IPA, taking its total number of member agencies to 263.

The IPA has been working hard to attract DM agencies and some have quit the DMA in order to focus on IPA membership, believing it better serves their needs.

Brendan Tansey, CEO of Wunderman, said: "Joining the IPA ensures we keep abreast of the latest trends in the industry. Wunderman will be able to share its learning garnered from a fast and deep transition to digital with peers facing the same challenges."

WPP-owned Wunderman is one of the UK's largest direct agencies. It employs 383 members of staff and its clients include Microsoft, Ford and P&G.

Gareth Phillips, managing director of digital agency Syzygy, said: "We have adopted a 'learning equals work' style and feel that the IPA can deliver continuing education in the most efficient and targeted manner.

"In addition we feel that IPA certification is desirable for our business."

Grey Healthcare's managing director Michel Dubery said that membership of the IPA gives it access to some "excellent professional services: professional development; legal, HR and finance".

He added: "It also allows us through the healthcare committee to raise and discuss issues that are of importance industry wide."
