- Octagon, the Interpublic Group-owned global sports marketing and entertainment network, is understood to be in the advanced stages of talks to acquire a 10 per cent stake in English premier league football club Arsenal.
The news follows its acquisition last week of a substantial equity stake in Germany Bundesliga football club, Eintracht Frankfurt.
Octagon is one of a number of /buyers talking to the club about buying stakes. Other potential buyers include Granada and OnDigital, which is jointly owned by Carlton and Granada.
The price tag for a ten per cent stake in the club is thought to be around the £50 million mark. Octagon also has stakes in Santos and Atletico in Brazil and DC United in the US.
