the Nickelodeon children’s channels around the world as well as the
company’s three main music television brands: MTV, VH-1 and M2.
WORLDWIDE SERVICES
US: Domestic service reaches 68 million homes
MTV Europe: 77 million homes across 43 territories, including most of
Europe, South Africa, parts of the former Soviet Union, the Middle East,
Egypt, Faroe Islands, Israel, Malta. Five regional feeds (UK, North,
Central and South), all in English (except Central is partially in
German and South partially in Italian)
MTV Russia: Licensing agreement with Biz
Enterprises, reaching 10 million homes.
MTV Latin America: 8.4 million homes across 19 territories. Two regional
feeds cover Latin America, Caribbean and US Spanish speakers
MTV Brazil: Joint venture with Abril, broadcasting in Portuguese to 16
million homes
MTV Mandarin: Joint venture with PolyGram, broadcasting in Mandarin to
17 million homes in Taiwan, parts of China and Singapore
MTV Asia: 89 million homes across 24 territories. Joint venture with
PolyGram, broadcasting in English, Bahasa Indonesian and Tagalog
MTV India: 6.2 million homes across six territories. Joint venture with
PolyGram, broadcasting in English and Hindi
MTV Japan: Broadcast to 1.3 million homes in a licensing deal with Music
Channel
MTV Australia: Licensing arrangement with Austereo Village Music and
Optus Vision
VH-1: available to a total of 93 million homes in the US, UK and
Germany/Austria
M2: interactive service launched in 1996.
