Interbrew chief takes on global brands position

Interbrew UK has promoted former UK marketing director Richard Evans to the global role of vice-president, commercial strategy.

Evans will lead development of Interbrew's global brand portfolio strategy.

He will report directly to chief planning and performance officer Jo van Biesbroeck, and work closely with Brent Willis, Interbrew's chief commercial officer.

Following Evans' appointment, Phil Rumbol has been confirmed as marketing director at Interbrew UK. Rumbol has been acting in the role since Evans was seconded to work on a global project at Interbrew SA in June.

Rumbol was brands and category director for Interbrew UK before taking on the role of acting marketing director. It had been unclear whether his hold on the job would be permanent.

Regional president of Interbrew UK & Ireland Steve Cahillane said: "This is a well-deserved promotion for Phil, who has a distinguished track record at Interbrew."

Interbrew's brands include Stella Artois, Tennent's Lager and Boddingtons.
