InStyle to launch in travel size

IPC is launching a travel-size version of women’s glossy fashion magazine In Style next month.

The magazine joins Red, Elle and sister IPC title Marie Claire in adopting the dual format to compete with A5-sized market-leading women’s glossy Glamour in stores targeting commuters and travellers.
The smaller format will appear alongside the standard edition in WHSmith Travel outlets in railway stations and airports, and will be promoted in-store at launch on 7 March.
The move coincides with the introduction of dedicated beauty, life and home sections, as well as more fashion stories and style features, as part of a wider redesign.
It also comes ahead of InStyle’s first UK website, which IPC is set to launch in April.
Meanwhile, IPC’s weekly magazine division, IPC Connect, has appointed Paul Lomax to the new role of digital publisher.
Lomax was previously the publisher’s internet technology manager and has been involved in the launch of more than 30 of the group’s websites.
