Institute of Direct Marketing honours top marketers

The Institute of Direct Marketing (IDM) has awarded its highest honour to four marketers for their outstanding contribution to direct and digital marketing.

Steve Harrison, founder and creative director of Harrison Troughton Wunderman; Mike Tildesley, marketing director, acquisition and retention, RBS Insurance; Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of WPP Group and, posthumously, Adam Novak, the recently deceased former managing director of Royal Mail Media Markets, were awarded the Honorary Fellowship of the IDM at the Institute's 20th anniversary annual lunch last month.

Presenting the awards, Sir Keith Mills, deputy chairman of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games, and founder of air miles said: "All of this year's award recipients are truly deserving, having rendered, through their endeavour and achievement, exceptional service, either to the direct and digital marketing profession as a whole, or to the IDM's education programme in particular."
