LONDON - Independent News & Media has been working with the corporate finance group Lazard to examine its options for its flagship title The Independent.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Lazard has been advising INM since the publisher received preliminary approaches for The Independent, but its sources have said that Lazard does not have a formal mandate to sell the title.
Lazard started working with INM when it was approached by the Russian oligarch Alexander Lebedev in 2008.
