Ingram, who received 拢64 million after the sale of Tempus to WPP last November, is a founder of Genesis Investments. Its first move is to back a management buyout of The Non-League Paper, the Sunday newspaper for supporters of non-league football clubs.
The purchase of The Non-League Paper, which folded in June, is expected to be the first of several investments made by Genesis in the next year. It has about 拢5 million to invest.
Ingram is also set to re-enter the advertising and media world with the launch of a new venture when his non-conflict clause expires and allows him to compete with WPP. This happens next month.
Earlier this year, Ingram bought his home-town football club Woking Town and became the chairman.
The Non-League Paper has a circulation of about 50,000 and is part of Non-League Media, which also publishes the women's football magazine She Kicks and the Non-League Club Directory.
Ingram said: "I have always been very interested in the development and growth of businesses. Through Genesis Investments I look forward to applying my experience and that of my colleagues to the businesses in which we invest. With Non-League Media, we see a great opportunity to extend the appeal of the paper."
Genesis is also backed by Ashley Martin, the former group finance director of Tempus.
