Ingram tightens its strategic grip on Fox

Twentieth Century Fox, which is reviewing its $1 billion global media planning and buying, has reappointed Ingram to its communications strategy role and broadened the agency's remit.

Ingram, which Fox initially hired in September 2004 to work on communications for movie releases in Europe, will oversee the film company's media review.

Ingram will also run a communications training programme across Fox's top 20 markets and plan communications for film releases, including Night at the Museum and The Simpsons.

The relationship with Ingram will extend across Fox's film and home entertainment divisions. As part of the partnership, Mark Gent, a senior planner at Ingram, will be seconded to Fox's Los Angeles head office for a year.

Fox is also looking at transferring one of its directors to Ingram's New York office. Elizabeth Kessels, the associate partner at Ingram, will oversee the business.

Ingram's work for Fox followed its relationship with Lucasfilm, the company behind the Star Wars saga and founded by George Lucas.

Chris Ingram, the founder of Ingram, said: "Secondment into clients' offices is usual in the advertising business, but less so in the management consultancy world."

Fox's global media review is being contested by the top five media agency groups - WPP, Publicis, Omnicom, Interpublic and Aegis.
