Investing in the industry's future talent is the brainchild of Rory Sutherland, executive creative director at OgilvyOne, but readily found support from the creative world.
Sutherland, a long-time industry stalwart, had the idea for the course after finding frustration at the lack of proper training for young copywriters and the large fees charged by training organisations.
The course is being supported by a number of award-winning creative directors including: Ed Prichard, creative director at McCann Relationship Marketing; Daren Kay, executive creative director at Tullo Marshall Warren; and Lu Dixon, creative director at EHS Brann.
The course will take the form of short talks on topics including: "Getting started -- planning and structuring copy"; "Understanding tone of voice"; "Letter writing"; and "Dealing with client comments and revisions".
The workshop will target those who have been in full-time agency jobs for 18 months and will run on January 29. Royal Mail has donated its media centre as the venue.
With places limited to around 25, those interested should email Shireen Crowe or call +44 20 7566 7020.
