Exhibition contractors, venue owners and organisers have joined
forces on an industry-wide forum to promote the interests of all
sectors.
British Exhibition Contractors Association (BECA) president Andrew Manby
announced the move at the organisation's agm at Excel in London last
month.
The industry group comprising BECA, the Exhibition Venues Association
(EVA) and the Association of Exhibition Organisers (AEO) held its first
meeting in April.
'Over the past two years, we have worked to encourage organisers' and
hall owners' representatives to get round the table together to discuss
matters of common interest,' said Manby.
BECA director Joan Turner said: 'It is still an informal forum but we
shall be working with the AEO and EVA to see how we can help them and to
see where we are overlapping. We shall set an agenda of achievable
targets.'
- Olympia event manager Lynn Felton is to replace Turner when she
retires.
Felton was as yet unable to outline her plans for the association. She
joins the organisation in June.
