FBC specialises in TV format creation, production, branded entertainment and distribution. The company is planning to plough millions of pounds into Diverse to expand its position in the TV marketplace against major players like RDF and Endemol.
Alan Friedman, chairman and chief executive of FBC, said: "Diverse and FBC are a natural fit. Diverse is already moving towards broadening its programming and commercial strategy and FBC will help this development with financial backing and international expertise."
Roy Ackerman and Narinder Minhas will continue to head Diverse as creative director and director of programmes respectively and will be shareholders in the FBC Group. The production house will retain the Diverse brand name.
Peter Donebauer, who founded Diverse in 1983 and jointly owns the company with Ackerman and Minhas, will retain shares in FBC.
