I'm A Celebrity final hits best viewing figures for three years

Lat night's final of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! drew an average of 10.5 million viewers and reached a peak of 11.4 million - making it the most watched final of the show since 2013.

Both figures were up by 800,000 on last year's final, which peaked at 10.6 million with a an average of 9.7 million viewers.

The programme, which was on ITV from 9pm to 10.35pm, was up against wartime drama My Mother and Other Strangers on BBC1, live snooker on BBC2 and sci-fi drama Humans on Channel 4. 

Earlier on Sunday, the Strictly Come Dancing results show reached a peak of 10.7 million viewers on BBC One during the 7.20pm-8pm slot, followed by Planet Earth II which peaked at 9.7 million. The X Factor Results, also shown between 8pm and 9pm, reached 6.3 million.

The current I'm a Celebrity series was the 16th for the show, which launched in 2002. 

Scarlett Moffatt, the Gogglebox cast member, won this year's reality TV contest, triumphing over comedian Joel Dommett and Emmerdale actor Adam Thomas in last night's final.
