Ian Tournes to leave Starcom Mediavest for IPC Media

LONDON - Ian Tournes, the press director at Starcom Mediavest, is leaving the agency to join IPC Media.

Tournes will take the new role of group trading director at IPC, overseeing its trading with agencies across all its divisions.

The appointment of Tournes is the latest move by IPC to strengthen its ad sales operations. In January, it promoted Caroline McDevitt, the director of group advertising, to the new role of managing director of IPC Advertising.

Tournes, who will join IPC on June 26, has been press director at Starcom Mediavest for three years having rejoined the agency from MediaCom.

He said: "I'm coming in from the outside to bring a new perspective to things. It's a fantastic offer -- IPC is the UK's largest magazine publisher and it's not often an offer like this comes along."

IPC publishes titles such as Living Etc, NME, Loaded and Homes & Gardens.
