IAB announces initiatives to drive online ad market

– The Internet Advertising Bureau has announced a number of new initiatives designed to help accelerate growth in the UK internet advertising market.

These include the setting up of a task force to look at metrics to measure website performance, and the establishment of new market development groups to accelerate the growth of the sector in Ireland and Scotland.

In addition new membership packages will be offered that will include discounts on industry research, access to analysts, input into government and European level lobby programmes.

To keep members informed of industry developments the IAB will set up an e-mail newswire service.

Danny Meadows-Klue, IAB chairman, said, "with reduced membership fees, a wider package of benefits and an intense programme of activity, we are opening the doors to all online media."
