What does your job involve?
Leading the advertising and creative solutions teams across the EMEA region. A central part of my role is helping brands communicate their message to our senior business TV and online audience, either through traditional spot campaigns or via branded content partnerships.
What's it like working for CNBC?
Action-packed, fast-paced and exciting. We have assembled a great team that is highly committed to the CNBC brand. Business has set the news agenda over the past year and we all feel privileged to have been at the heart of the story.
What qualifications and experience do you need?
A strong understanding of the pan-European market, an appreciation of cultural differences across the EMEA region and a keen interest in business news.Clients are increasingly looking for cross-platform solutions, so a deep understanding of how to use our platform to target our affluent viewers is vital.
How do you spend a typical day?
I get to the office at about 8.15am to give myself 45 minutes on e-mail before it's too late. The rest of the day is taken up by a mixture of internal deal reviews and external client meetings – assuming I'm not on the road.
What's the best thing about your job?
Working with my team on a challenging brief and the feeling you get when the deal is finally signed. We have recently been working on a multiplatform deal with Allianz, which we are all particularly proud of.
And the worst?
Airport delays.
What keeps you awake at night?
My five-year-old son Marco, making the numbers add up or the latest killer tune on my iPod.
Who helped you get where you are today?
Many people from all walks of life, including those who have worked for me. The important thing is to be open and have confidence in your abilities.
Who do you aspire to be like?
Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho, because he is able to inspire great performances in others, he is passionate about what he does and he is totally focused on winning.
