What does your job involve?
I run MPG's international team in London. We work with international clients on a global basis and I need to coordinate the efforts of our network offices, as well as pan-regional/global media booking. The department is fully integrated for both on and offline and that means I need to manage a large and highly skilled team who are much younger and much brighter than I am.
What's it like working for MPG?
Exciting, exhausting and exhilarating. The order of those changes daily.
What qualifications and experience do you need?
The ability to run a diverse team of incredibly clever and ambitious people who are at the cutting edge of the ever-changing media landscape, as well as managing budgets for the world's largest and most prestigious brands.
How do you spend a typical day?
An early start and a long commute mean I have time to read - a lot. The mornings normally start with team meetings, followed by a mixture of media owner and client meetings. We spend a lot of time training, especially in the digital space, and I like to set aside enough time to keep abreast of all developments. I also spend a fair amount of time working with our growing network of offices all over the world.
Best thing about your job?
Every day is different and I genuinely learn something new each day. We create great solutions for our clients and it's really rewarding to see those executed.
And the worst?
Spreadsheets, the commute and leaving the building on a Friday night amid a monumental swarm
of tourist pedestrians, all of them walking in circles around Leicester Square.
What keeps you awake at night?
A large glass of water just before I go to bed.
Who helped you get where you are today?
My old boss Mohamed Al Fayed who sacked me from Harrods' radio station.
Who do you aspire to be like?
Bill Clinton - rich, unrepentant and still universally adored.
