Hyundai to sponsor ITV drama series Six Degrees

LONDON - ITV has signed car manufacturer Hyundai as the sponsor of its new drama series 'Six Degrees', created by 'Lost' producers J J Abrams and Bryan Burk.

follows six New Yorkers who lead very different lives, which become unexpectedly intertwined.

The strangers go about their lives without realizing the impact they're having on one another until a mysterious web of coincidences gradually draws them closer, changing the course of their lives forever.

'Six Degrees' stars Jay Hernandez ('Friday Night Lights'), Erika Christensen ('Flightplan'), Bridget Moynahan ('Sex and the City'), Dorian Missick ('Lucky Number Slevin'), Hope Davis ('About Schmidt') and Campbell Scott ('The Secret Lives of Dentists').

The hour-long shows are produced by Touchstone Television. Executive producers are Abrams and Burk, who are also responsible for shows including 'Alias', and the movie Cloverfield'. The other executive producers are Stu Zicherman and Raven Metzner.

The deal includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1 and mobile interactive bumpers. It was negotiated by Emma Laurence at ITV and Danusia Michalik at Zenith.

Creative is being produced by VCCP.

Separately, ITV has also signed Sekonda as sponsor of 'An Audience with Neil Diamond', which is due to air on May 31.

Diamond will take centre stage to celebrate a showbusiness career that spans five decades.

The US singer-songwriter performs in front of a star-studded audience singing some of his greatest hits, including 'Sweet Caroline', 'Cracklin Rosie' and 'Cherry Cherry'.

The deal includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1 and mobile interactive bumpers. It was negotiated by Megan Keith at ITV and Richard Temple at John Ayling & Associates.

The creative will be produced by Fin.
