The Korean car maker claims the deal, which runs across 450 peak and family movies, is its biggest UK terrestrial TV sponsorship to date.
The deal, brokered by Five's sponsorship controller Rachael Wheeler and Hyundai's in-house media agency Innocean, will start on 22 May and run until the end of the year.
The creative work, undertaken by M&C Saatchi, will feature opening and closing credits and break bumpers, with a focus on recreating famous movie moments within Hyundai's UK dealerships.
The previous sponsor for Five's peak-time movies was Peugeot, which held the brief for six years. Games publisher, 505 Games, was the former sponsor of the channel's family movies. It is unclear if either bid for the new contract.
