Online consultancy The Hub Communications Group has developed an
official Pokemon microsite and online marketing campaign to support the
release of the much anticipated Nintendo Gold & Silver video games.
The site (www.pokemongoldandsilver.co.uk) and online campaign, which
offers Pokemon gamers new types of characters, will run up until the
release of the Pokemon Gold & Silver games on 6 April. The new games
precede Nintendo's launch of its handheld colour games console - the
GameBoy Advance - which is expected to sell around 24 million units
within a year of its June release.
The new site is part of an ongoing relationship between The Hub and
Nintendo Europe, which started 12 months ago. So far, the online
consultancy has developed www.pokemon.co.uk and
www.pokemon-stadium.co.uk, as well as www.pokemoncollectors.co.uk for
toy manufacturer Hasbro UK.
Lisa Fellows, project director at The Hub, said she expected the site to
gain 5,000 registered users after one week and 25,000 by 7 April.
