Hovis designs Union Jack wrap for Royal Wedding

Hovis is tapping into the fervour around the Royal Wedding by launching a Union Jack pack design that highlights its British provenance.

The Union Jack packaging will roll out across its Soft White range, in supermarkets from the end of March.

The patriotic design and "100% British Wheat" tagline are being introduced to promote Hovis' use of flour milled from UK wheat.

Packs will use colour coding to describe the loaves' thickness.

The Premier Foods-owned brand believes the packaging will appeal to those who are excited about the impending Royal Wedding.

It mirrors a similar move by Tesco, which recently launched a 100% British, "patriotic," range of yoghurts, called Yoo.

Hovis is supporting the launch with marketing across TV and digital, and a partnership with The Sun newspaper.
