The BBC Trust has warned that the BBC may have to move the next series of The Apprentice to later on next year if a General Election is called.
Responding to a complaint from the shadow culture secretary, Jeremy Hunt, the Trust ruled that Alan Sugar's new role as government "enterprise champion" posed a "greater than normal risk to the impartiality, integrity and independence of the BBC".
