Discovery Foods, a privately owned company that produces Mexican
and American foods, has appointed Hooper Galton to handle its £2
million creative account.
Hooper Galton won the business after a four-way pitch. As a relatively
new entrant to the UK market, Discovery did not previously have a UK ad
agency.
The agency is initially creating a press campaign for Discovery's
products. It produces a range of sauces and also shrink-wrapped fresh
tortillas. However, it is likely to expand its product range in the
coming months.
The win is Hooper Galton's third this year, following last week's
capture of the Whiteley's Shopping Centre and the Covent Garden Soup
Company accounts, which are worth £1 million and £3 million
respectively.
Paul Vita, the marketing director of Discovery Foods, said: "Discovery
Foods has come a long way without advertising and has a loyal following
of adventurous but time-poor cooks.
"But now we're looking for a step-change in the growth of the brand and
have been looking for an agency to challenge us both strategically and
creatively."
Oliver Lewis-Barclay, a managing partner of Hooper Galton, added:
"Discovery is a gem of a well-kept secret, and could turn out to be a
bit of a Phileas Fogg if all goes well. They are brave, can-do people
and we're delighted to have been chosen."
Media for Discovery is handled by MediaCom.
