A ‘modern German’ design was chosen by brand consultancy Blue Marlin for the pump, to replace the existing Bierkeller-style ceramic font.
Holsten was keen to draw on the link between high quality and modern German design, with the pump echoing the clean curves of cars such as Audi.
The bar font, with the strap-line ‘Pure Brewing Excellence’ embossed into the base, is being installed in premises across the South-East and North-West of England.
Holsten’s share of the premium lager market in the UK dropped from 3.4% in 2000 to 2.8% in 2002.
