LONDON (Brand Republic) - The Electronic Telegraph is set for a £10m relaunch, with the new name of Telegraph.co.uk.
The Electronic Telegraph was the first national newspaper to be published on the internet in 1994. The revamp will include a network of sites covering sports, travel, motoring, money and jobs.
Media group Hollinger, which owns the Electronic Telegraph, recently sold most of its Canadian assets for £1.6bn in cash and shares to CanWest Global Communications. Some of these proceeds will now go into developing the group鈥檚 internet strategy.
Hollinger Telegraph New Media has already invested in sites including Newsplayer.com, Interactive Investor International and Sharepeople.com. It also co-owns women鈥檚 portal Handbag.com, a joint venture with Boots.
