Hoare set to take over from Bolton at JWT

LONDON - Toby Hoare, the former chairman of Bates Europe and the man instrumental in helping WPP Group win the global HSBC account, is being tipped to take over the top role at JWT London after the departure of Simon Bolton.

Last week, 北京赛车pk10 magazine revealed that Bolton was departing the chief executive role at JWT after a difficult year for the agency, which included the loss of the Persil account and the failure to win big pitches including British Airways.

It has also lost the European account for Unilever Bestfoods' Lipton Ice Tea and faces a review for Knorr.

Hoare was chairman of Bates from 1999 until it was taken over and closed when WPP bought Cordiant in 2003. He has since been working on the sidelines at WPP, running Team HSBC and being tipped by pundits for a senior role at one of WPP's agencies.

Before joining Bates, Hoare spent a long period with Young & Rubicam, being made managing director of the agency at the age of just 29.

JWT refused to comment on the appointment, saying an announcement was due to be made later in the week.
