Hill takes on European role as Initiative forms new management structure

LONDON - Initiative has unveiled a new executive management structure for Europe, Middle East and Africa, which sees Jerry Hill, group chief executive Initiative UK, promoted to executive vice-president EMEA.

The top executive structure at Inititaive will take on a three-tier formation with a European executive board overseeing a regional committee and a newly created operations committee.

Alongside Hill, Dirk Wiedenmann, chief executive of Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the Netherlands, has also been promoted to executive vice-president EMEA and will report to Philippe Bernard, president EMEA.

"Our mission is to ensure Initiative is at its best in being creative, innovative and inspiring, as it moves to the new generation of media agencies. We have to trade differently, develop new media experiences for our clients," Bernard said.

In addition, James Gover, former multinational account director for Unilever, is taking on the newly created role of general manager EMEA.

The new regional committee is made up of sub-regional hubs each led by by a top manager who will report to the executive board and work alongside the operations committee.

The newly created operations committee will be in charge of developing Initiative's key areas.

Glyn Hughes, european commercial director will be responsible for procurement; Wout Dockx, managing director of Initiative Brussels will lead the agency's emerging media offering; Hans Jessen, president Initiative Consulting will be in charge of research; and Mario Mateus, managing director Initiative Lisbon will be responsible for marketing.
