Henrion Ludlow Schmidt appoints Landor's Alec Rattray

LONDON - European brand consultancy Henrion Ludlow Schmidt has appointed Landor's Alec Rattray as director of consultancy.

At Landor, Rattray had a dual role as strategic consultant and marketing director and worked on the agency's long-term clients such as Diageo and Volvo.

Previously, he spent three years at Saatchi & Saatchi and has also worked for JHDC, RSCG Conran Design and Research International during his 16 years working in marketing and design.

His appointment follows the hiring by Henrion of Pirate Communications to handle its UK PR.

Dr Klaus Schmidt, co-founder and CEO of Henrion Ludlow Schmidt, said: "We are delighted that Alec has joined us. He has worked for some of the most reputable names in the industry and will help us provide the best possible service to existing and potential clients."

As well as his agency career, Rattray has regularly lectured and written on topics as diverse as 'invisible branding', 'brand harmony' and 'ROI: the brand bloodline'. Most recently he was chairman of the 2004 Internal Branding Summit.

Founded in 1981, Henrion Ludlow Schmidt has offices London and Hamburg. Its clients have included Mercedes-Benz, Deutsche Bank, Transport for London, Miele and KLM.

The agencies founders, Schmidt and Chris Ludlow, recently wrote the book 'Inclusive Branding', which was published by Palgrave MacMillan.
