Lang joins from Source magazine, the customer title for the John Lewis brand Greenbee.com, where she has been the editor since 2006.

She replaces Sue Robinson, who is leaving to live in the US after seven years as the editor of Sainsbury’s Magazine.

Lang worked as Robinson’s deputy on the title between 2004 and 2006 and also edited Hachette Filipacchi’s Psychologies magazine ahead of its UK launch.

Launched by Delia Smith in May 1993, Sainsbury’s Magazine has a circulation of 321,069 and is sold exclusively in Sainsbury’s stores with a coverprice of £1.40.

Lang said: "Building on the tremendous pool of talent already present, I plan to enhance the content with some fresh faces and new and original approaches to the food and lifestyle pages, and strengthen the relationship and the loyal readership feel with both Sainsbury’s and the magazine."
