Heineken plots global Desperados review

Heineken is preparing to kick off a search for a new global creative agency for Desperados, its tequila-flavoured beer.

The brewing giant, which won the Creative Marketer of the Year award at Cannes last week, is in the early stages of the process.

The move has been triggered by Heineken’s split with Wieden & Kennedy three weeks ago. Wieden & Kennedy  handled the global creative work for the Heineken brand, with its Amsterdam office overseeing the Desperados account.

On Tuesday, the global Heineken brand business was shifted into Publicis Worldwide, which had previously handled work in France and Italy.

Adam & Eve/DDB, which holds Desperados’ UK account, and Havas Work Club, the global digital incumbent, are not affected.
