Heineken moves quickly to fill UK brand director role

Heineken has moved quickly to replace outgoing UK brand director Mark Given, with the promotion of Gayle Harrison to the role.

Harrison, currently marketing manager for Foster's, will take over the role with responsibility for "mainstream beers" such as Foster's and John Smith's from 6 January.

Former L'Oreal marketer Harrison joined the brewer in 2002 as brand controller for the Heineken brand, before taking up a range of roles for Heineken in the Caribbean.

She assumed her current job in 2008, developing Foster’s ongoing 'Good Call' ad campaign.

Stefan Orlowski, managing director for Heineken UK, said: "Gayle has an excellent record of building brands and marketing capability, both internationally and here in the UK. Her appointment will ensure a seamless transition and continued momentum on both Foster's and John Smith's."

Given is , with responsibility for O2's range of entertainment and sport sponsorship deals, including O2-branded music venues and its backing of the England rugby union team.
