Heathrow launches quarterly magazine Heathrow Traveller

LONDON - Heathrow Airport has launched its consumer magazine 'Heathrow Traveller' aimed at passengers using the UK's largest airport.

The new title replaces BAA's previous magazine Emporium, which covered all seven of the organisation's airports: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stanstead, Southampton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

From this week, Heathrow Traveller includes news and features from the airport as well as news from around the world.

Published by London-based Show Media, the glossy publication will also feature travel ideas and advice on the 180 destinations served by Heathrow.

The magazine will also include regular interviews with renowned travel experts and celebrities, and a round up on the latest fiction, film and music.

The first summer issue of Heathrow Traveller features the world’s best roof top bars at sunset, what to see in Shanghai and where to take the family in the Alps along with a lowdown on the perfect accessories to pack for trips to Paris, Marrakech and Los Angeles.

Nick Adderley, marketing and insight director at Heathrow, said the magazine captures the "spirit" and "excitement" of Heathrow, adding: "Heathrow Traveller offers our passengers a rich assortment of news and information to make their journey through Heathrow as enjoyable as possible."

Copies of the magazine will be available across the airport’s terminals and onboard Heathrow Express.

Its arrival comes as Iceland's volcanic ash cloud and planned BA strikes threaten to cause havoc and long delays at the airport as it enteres its busy summer period.

Gatwick was sold in October 2009 to Global Infrastructure Partners for £1.5bn in October 2009, while Stanstead and Edinburgh are still going through a sale process instigated by the Competition Commission.

Heathrow Traveller will also be available at heathrow.com as a digital publication.
