Haymarket buys UBM business magazines

Haymarket has bought business titles Printing World and Packaging Magazine from United Business Media subsidiary CMP.

The 拢2.1m purchase builds on Haymarket's acquisition of the monthly Packaging News from Quantum Business Media last year.
Packaging Magazine will be incorporated into Packaging News from the May issue, which will be relaunched to cover the whole of the packaging sector.
Haymarket also plans to reposition Printing World, the oldest title serving the UK printing industry, and will relaunch it as a quality in-depth monthly read.
The magazine, which recorded an ABC of 19,736 from July to December 2005, will be fully redesigned with new content drawn from extensive reader research over the past two years.
The publisher said the purchase strengthened its position in the print and packaging market and underlined its long-term commitment to the print and packaging sectors, both in the UK and internationally, that would include further significant investments in the future.
Last year, Haymarket also acquired Media Week from Quantum.
