Havas wins Allied Domecq champagne task

SAN FRANCISCO - British drinks giant Allied Domecq has awarded Havas-owned Magnet Communications the task of handling its high-profile champagne brands Perrier Jouet and Champagne Mumm as part of a shift in its drinks portfolio.

Magnet has been awarded the two champagne brands along with Napa Valley-based sparkling wine producer Mumm Cuvee Napa, and Brancott Vineyards of New Zealand. All of the brands are part of the Allied Domecq Wines USA portfolio.

Magnet's San Francisco office, part of Havas's Diversified Agencies Group North America, will provide support and consultancy for Allied Domecq's internal public relations team, including media relations, events support and related publicity for the champagne and sparkling wine brands.

Magnet will also handle a strategic PR brand building campaign for Allied's Brancott Vineyards, which is produced by New Zealand's leading winemaker Montana Wines.

George Rose, director of public relations for the Allied Domecq wine portfolio, said: "We are looking forward to working as a team with Magnet to obtain even greater results for the brand."
