Havas suffers 13.7% drop in UK revenue

LONDON - Havas, owner of media agencies MPG and All Response Media, suffered a 13.7% decline in UK revenue in Q3 to €41m.

Revenues declined in all Havas regions globally. Worldwide revenue dropped 9.3% year on year in Q3, to €326m, and revenues from its continental European operations, excluding France, totalled €73m, down 10.7% year on year.

The year-on-year slide in UK revenues was the worst of any Havas region in Q3, with Havas conceding the UK market "continued to be hard hit by the [economic] crisis".

Across the group, including its various PR, ad and media agencies, it landed net new business totalling €1.13bn for the first 9 months of 2009.

Among its media wins, it landed the Israel Tourist Office (MPG International) AXA UK (Havas Media) and Coty in France (Havas Media France).

Over the first nine months of 2009, UK revenues totalled €122m, down 10.6% year on year. Worldwide revenues were down 9.2% to €1.03bn.
