Browne will report directly to Havas Media Group’s managing directors, Paul Frampton and Pedro Avery, and is tasked with driving growth across the media and creative businesses.

All of Havas Media Group’s new business and marketing staff will report to Browne, who started this week. She replaces Amanda Pitt, the former managing partner of new business and marketing, who left in July to become a director at FullerGirling, the recruitment company.

She will also help build Havas Media Manchester, alongside Havas Media’s managing director, Natasha Murray, as the agency group opens its new base near MediaCity in Salford. Havas Media won the BBC’s £15 million media account in July.

Frampton said: "Sharon’s vast experience across all agency disciplines, at group level and on the client side, make her a perfect choice for evolving the #havastogether narrative around joining the dots between creative, content, data and technology."

Prior to M&C Saatchi, where she joined as the new business director in 2012, Browne worked for two years as new business and marketing director at OMD.

Before that she was the business development director for Creston, from 2008 to 2010, and held the same role at Dentsu from 2006 to 2008.

Browne started her career client-side at Guinness's United Distillers (which became Diageo Scotland in 2002) as a marketing executive for five years, before she was hired by Leo Burnett as an account director in 1995.
