A newly formed creative council will be co-ordinated by the global creative director, Mark Whelan. It will comprise Ben Mooge and Andy Sandoz, two of the founders of Havas Work Club; Mark Fairbanks, Havas Worldwide London’s executive creative director; Gerry Moira, the UK director of creativity; and Lee Hoddy, the creative partner at Conran Design Group.
Various combinations of the group will also meet potential clients.
The formation of the creative council coincides with a restructure at Havas Worldwide London to help it move closer to its sister shop Havas Work Club.
To provide continuity between the agencies, they have created Club Havas, which will be led by Daniel Floyed, the global brand director at Havas Worldwide London, and Martin Brooks, the joint chief executive of Work Club, as co-managing partners.
Havas Worldwide London and Havas Work Club will continue for now to be based in separate offices, with teams moving between them as clients demand.
Since acquiring Work Club in 2014, Havas has been keen to integrate carefully and avoid culture clashes. "It hasn’t been easy but, where it has worked, it has worked extremely well," Kate Robertson, the UK group chairman of Havas Worldwide, said.
As a result of the restructure, Havas Worldwide London’s chief executive, Russ Lidstone, has left the agency. Gareth Davies, the client services director, has been promoted to managing director, replacing Emily Somers.
