Harris leaves Emap for role at Hachette

Julie Harris, deputy managing director and group publishing director of the Elle and Top ³§²¹²Ô³Ùé titles, is leaving Emap for Hachette.

An internal e-mail from Emap managing director of women's media, Dawn Bebe, read: "In light of the impending break-up of the Hachette/Emap joint
venture, Julie has decided to continue her association with the Elle brand and will take up a job running those businesses for Hachette as general manager of the women's magazine group.

Harris' departure is the first senior shift from the commercial side, as Hachette begins to recruit a publishing team for Elle, Elle Deco and Elle Girl. She is expected to be replaced at Emap as it begins the process of replacing the Elle business.

Hachette is looking for office space, but is expected to temporarily house Elle staff until a permanent office is found.
