Hachette strengthens brands with marketing reshuffle

LONDON – Hachette Filipacchi UK, publisher of Red and Sugar, has made a series of marketing promotions and appointments to boost its magazine brands.

Hachette UK is split into two divisions. The women's group comprises Elle, Red, Elle Decoration and B, while the teen/soap group houses TV Hits!, Sugar, ElleGirl, Inside Soap and All About Soap.

The role of product manager is being changed to brand manager. The brand managers will be responsible for two magazines each, working with the editors and publishers.

Cherie Chambers has been promoted from product manager for Inside Soap to brand manager for Elle and B, while Amanda Fry has been appointed brand manager for Sugar and ElleGirl, passing on responsibility of TV Hits!.

Claire Matthews has been named head of marketing for the women's group, with Liz Settle assuming full responsibility in her new position as head of strategic marketing.

Two marketing executives will take responsibility for one title each, with Louise Tierney being responsible for Elle Decoration and Yvonne Poon looking after TV Hits!. Tierney will report to Matthews and Poon to Helen

titles.

The restructured team will continue to work closely with the PR and circulation departments headed by Sue Asbury and Reid Holland respectively.

Simon Bell, the marketing director, said: "The new structure is designed to improve the service the marketing department provides to Hachette's brands and to facilitate career progression."
