Hachette restructures sales team for customer focus

LONDON - Hachette Filipacchi has restructured its sales team under sales director Tim Kirkman, with Cath Ware taking the role of commercial director for central sales.

Ware, who has recently returned from maternity leave, takes responsibility for key accounts, central sales, classified, international fashion and inserts.

Ware joined Hachette just over a year ago as commercial director of its women's group having previously worked at Emap Elan.

Hachette has promoted Red ad director Clare Dempster to the women's group commercial director role vacated by Ware.

Nigel Birch has been appointed acting group ad director for Hachette's teen group while Helen Brocklebank is on maternity leave.

The publisher has also created a sales support department that will bring research, ad marketing and IT systems into one department. It is seeking a commercial director to run this department.

Kirkman said: "It [the restructure] is designed to deliver a truly customer centric approach to generating revenue from our key areas of advertising, promotions, sponsorship and classified."
